If you're a bird, I'm a bird

It's ironic that what is liberating and freeing to one can be considered reckless and irresponsible by another. I have this Bucket List that I revise and edit as needed over the years. Here recently I feel an urgency to mark off as much as I can. I'd say this "mid-life reborn" phase I am in is responsible for my doing things I've wanted or missed out on. Living life to the fullest is my motto right now. Why should my happiness be sacrificed? Circumstances, finances and people prevent these items from ever getting off the paper list into reality. So my mindset has had a tremendous shift recently and I've never felt happier. On September 1, I posted  on my blog about getting Grey's ears pierced. There was a stranger that commented on my post and gave me some things to think about. I asked on a natural parenting group for facilities that do ear piercing. I didn't want to take her to a box store or Claire's in the mall. My mom took me to Modern Jewelers, which was classy place. Someone in the group told me about Fabulous Girl Boutique . I went to their website and it seemed like such a special place to mark a milestone together. I scheduled her an appointment for 4:00pm on September 10. I picked her up from school early, which is supposed to be a good thing, but she was running around chasing bubbles on the playground. She was not happy that I interrupted her playtime. She screamed and cried the whole way to the boutique. In my mind I'm thinking, "Today may not be the best day to do this."  Joe and I have been discussing when and where to move. We decided that Port Royal was the location we could see our family living. It reminds us of Athens and some neighborhoods there, like Normaltown. We like that it is a little city within itself. The main road is called Paris Avenue and has a 30-35mph speed limit. It has entertainment, dining, nature, and education in a consolidated area, literally in walking distance. We could see ourselves owning businesses in the commercial properties. If we decided to send our kids to public school, Port Royal Elementary is 47th on the top 100 list of elementary schools in South Carolina. There is a nursing home, a eal estate office, a post office, a pottery shop, a park, a beach, a hair salon, antique stores, locally-owned food establishments, a bike rental shop, a gym, trails, and an elementary school.
