 Joe and I have been discussing when and where to move. We decided that Port Royal was the location we could see our family living. It reminds us of Athens and some neighborhoods there, like Normaltown. We like that it is a little city within itself. The main road is called Paris Avenue and has a 30-35mph speed limit. It has entertainment, dining, nature, and education in a consolidated area, literally in walking distance. We could see ourselves owning businesses in the commercial properties. If we decided to send our kids to public school, Port Royal Elementary is 47th on the top 100 list of elementary schools in South Carolina. There is a nursing home, a eal estate office, a post office, a pottery shop, a park, a beach, a hair salon, antique stores, locally-owned food establishments, a bike rental shop, a gym, trails, and an elementary school. Do we leave our house on the market in Athens? Do you continue our lease in this house or buy a cheap house with a smaller mortgage payment? Where will the kids go to school next year? Where will Rebekah work?

I had four goals for January. This is how they went. Spiritual goal was between God and I. I did pretty well; slipped a few times, but didn't beat myself up. Physical goal was to run/walk every Saturday and Sunday. We did it once a weekend (Sunday), instead of twice. With doing the chores on Saturdays, the exercising didn't get done too. We borrowed my aunt's jogging stroller. I pushed Grey and Joe pushed Lincoln. We'd do a mile at the track and warm-up and cool day on the way there and back. It worked best for us to go straight after church which was around 11:00. Lincoln could eat his snack in the stroller and then go down for his nap at noon when we got back. Grey slept during the walk. Financial goal was pretty easy. I didn't go to any consignment stores, flea markets, yard sales, or thrift stores during the month of January. Television When Joe and I lived in Athens, right after Lincoln was born, we limited watching television until Lincoln went to bed. Slowly, as he got older, Joe and I would turn it more while he was awake, even though he wasn't watching it. In the evenings after Lincoln was in bed, we had shows that we watched-Big Bang Theory, Master Chef, the Bachelorette/the Bachelor, the Biggest Loser, Survivor, Grey's Anatomy, HGTV. I looked forward to the evenings when we could sit and do nothing. We considered canceling our cable to save money. Cable was only $15 a month from Charter so there wouldn't have a lot of money saved. Time would have been saved. So when we moved to Beaufort in July, Joe didn't have a job yet, life was pretty overwhelming, and we only had wi-fi connected. Transitioning from television to no television probably couldn't have happened at a better time. Grey was still colicky and had thrush. No, I'm not pregnant. I've heard that quote said before. Supposedly, once you get rid of all your baby stuff, you end up pregnant, like you jinxed yourself. I am not 100% sure we won't have more children, but I do know that I have a lot of clothes that do not fit the children that I do have. It is starting to pile up. I gave away the boy clothes 0-18 months recently to my nephew and a lady friend in our church having her 7th. Of course, Grey is growing like a weed and too tall for 6 months. We've been blessed with grandparents that go on clothing shopping sprees. That is the only time our children get new clothes. Everything we buy comes from flea markets or consignment stores (or given to us by cousins). I mean, how long do they actually wear the clothes? A few months, sometimes 2-3 times before it is too small or the season is wrong. When we lived in Athens, we shopped at reBlossom Mama and Baby Shop when we needed bigger pajamas or shoes and seasonal clothes. ...
