Wonderful Weekend!

Friday Joe and I ate dinner at the Grit. I ate a "steak" sandwich and carrot cake. Joe ate his usual golden bowl and split dessert with me. We drove to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta. We planned on arriving sooner, but traffic was moving slowly through intersections. We finally arrived at 8:00ish. We found Thomas' room with no problems and put on our gowns. Thomas is in isolation because he has an infection. We talked and laughed for over an hour. We decided to slip out when a nurse arrived. Visiting hours were already over. We plan to visit again before he is released sometime in January or February. We are going to grill out steaks. I feel asleep in the car on the way home. I love Friday nights when I know I can sleep in. Saturday We slept in until 9:00. Joe made us eggs, grits, and bacon. My coffee is so good in the mornings! I graded some math assessments while Joe got stuff ready for painting. By this time, it has warmed up and I started painting the front of the

Thursday

Joe stayed in bed while I got ready for work. I noticed that I am more pushed for time when I have to brew the coffee and feed the dogs, which is something he normally does while I get ready for work. I had ice on my wind shield and breakfast duty from 7:10-7:45. I hate breakfast duty, by the way. The third graders are out of control. They were so talkative and three went to time-out in 1 and 45 minutes. I least favorite class (4th grade) was actually manageable today. Have I said how thankful I am that I am not a 4th grade teacher this year? Around 10:30, I found out that the cafeteria was serving Thanksgiving, which is always a delicious meal. I sent Joe a text to see if he could come eat with me. He was home painting the exterior of the house so he was able to join me at 12:30 for lunch. We ate in my classroom, while watching TLC. He helped me teach my Kindergarteners. He read a "R" book to them. He headed back home to paint and I did some grading. I made spaghetti

November

I can't believe I haven't blogged in so long. This time of year I enjoy fires, hot beverages, leaves changing, cold weather, and the holidays. I am excited about visiting SC next week for Thanksgiving. Joe and I have been planning out Christmas shopping and have even purchased a few. My job has been getting more difficult as the students seem almost out of control. I count down each class each day and am pretty sure I only have 1.5 years left in the field of education. My passion is somewhere else.
