37 Weeks

We had an appointment with the midwife yesterday at 4:30 in Toccoa. I was still 190lbs. and hadn't gained any weight since July 25 at the 32-week appointment. Blood pressure was 120/74 and my urine specimen was good. I decided to have an exam yesterday to see how things were progressing. That was my first "check" besides the Group B swab at 35 weeks. Bethany said my cervix was soft and the primrose oil capsules have worked. I wasn't quite 1 cm because she couldn't push her finger all the way through my cervix. It was tighter on the inside. She said the cervix is like a funnel so the inside was still closed. At 37-weeks she said I am progressing like I should be. She said I will most likely still be pregnant next week. and maybe even make it to my due date. She predicted Lincoln to weight about 7lbs. when he is born. She said my belly is well-proportioned to my body and she doesn't look at me and think, "She's going to have a big baby!" I weighed

Prenatal Yoga

I attended my 5th yoga class last night in the course of a few months. I have one more session that I have paid for and I hope to get it in before our birthing day! There are three of us that are 36-weeks and one girl is named Rebecca who is having her first child- a boy!  Anyways, the class is growing! It went from 8 members to 12. New people start showing up and others drop out as they reach full-term. One girl was 6-weeks pregnant last night. A new lady showed up who was 42 years-old and had rather a negative spirit. She is probably traditional-minded when it comes to birth. She probably has a physician/OB instead of a midwife. We always start the meetings with a 15-minute introduction telling your name, how far along you are, your care provider, if you have a doula, what number child and what you are having. The new member who is 42, asked me if I had a Plan B since I am driving to Toccoa. She said she woke up 4 cm. I was thinking, "And..." I told her we were laboring at
Prenatal appointment went well with the midwife. We started talking about the big day and how it may unfold. Lincoln is still in a good birthing position and my uterus measured 36cm. I hadn't gained weight in 4 weeks which made me feel good about my meal plan. I started taking a herbal supplement called Evening Primrose oil to soften my cervix. It's a natural intervention to avoid induction. We booked a photographer, Bianca Hubble, from Axsys Photography in Toccoa to take our newborn shots a few days after Lincoln is born. We also have purchased another vehicle. We currently have a Toyota Rav4, which we will use as our second vehicle and we bought a Honda Oddessey from my brother in SC. He is a salesman at a Toyota dealership. It is gold and a 2004. We are excited about having the extra room and a newer vehicle. Joe got a raise so we are able to afford a car payment. Praise the Lord! We will also be able to send Lincoln to the Georgia Academy of Early Learning like we wan

Week 36...tomorrow

I haven't blogged in a while. I finished up my summer and went back to work on August 1. I just completed my second complete week of teaching the students. I'm teaching Kindergarten, 1st, and 4th this year. I like my schedule so far, but it is extremely busy with 7 segments this year. I've never taught 1st graders before and I teach 4 periods of 1st grade, but I like the teachers I work with and I like teaching curriculum I have never taught before. My co-workers ask me daily how I am feeling, how much longer do I have, am I ready, etc. The students ask me if I know what I am having. I will say the walking around the school is good for me, but I do tire. My back and bladder give me the most discomfort. By the time I get home, I am ready to shower, put my pajamas on, and relax on the couch for the rest of the evening. My hips, back, bladder, and muscles are sore while I sleep. I make over 5 trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I'm still sleeping throughout
